Post CampU Programs and Reunions
- Reunions took place throughout the fall
semester
- Aimed to be social and focused on
transition curriculum
- Included Dinner and a Movie experience,
presentation from USF Wellness, Homecoming float and a concluding experience at the USF SunDome Student Club
- Volunteered at Fall Family Weekend with
CampU counselors
Lessons Learned
- Take a year to map program out before diving right in.
- Set yourself up for success with well trained student facilitators and staff
- Get Campus buy in, within the planning.
- Have a staff person with minimum 50 percent of their time devoted to this. If starting
from the beginning, mid-level professional may be best.
- Don’t devalue the opportunities to just “be”. No need to over program, a lot of value
found in free time. Small group reflection was critical for success. Wanted to get to know each other not just in their small teams.
- Use an all-inclusive site. A site that can help you be successful, spend your time on the
experience, not on the logistics.
