Lessons Learned

  • Take a year to map program out before diving right in.
  • Set yourself up for success with well trained student facilitators and staff
  • Get Campus buy in, within the planning.
  • Have a staff person with minimum 50 percent of their time devoted to this. If starting

from the beginning, mid-level professional may be best.

  • Don’t devalue the opportunities to just “be”. No need to over program, a lot of value

found in free time. Small group reflection was critical for success. Wanted to get to know each other not just in their small teams.

  • Use an all-inclusive site. A site that can help you be successful, spend your time on the

experience, not on the logistics.
