  6. • Commend all for working to spend Census Outreach Funds before June 30 • No guarantee that request for extension will be supported by legislature • If approved, must be ready to have Tribal Leaders sign documents ASAP - BEFORE June 30 • During Special session working to protect Election Code • Employ Native people to work polling locations • If County Clerks make changes; must have signatures from Governors acknowledging change(s) • In past elections, some County Clerks were not open with information; want to ensure election laws are upheld • There are 8 districts which have 50% or more Native Americans • Important to maintain population • Census will impact re-districting • Coloring Books • Being finalized • If more orders are made, price per coloring book will be lower • Contact Charlotte, Ahtza, or Kim if interested

  9. • Kendra Moore, Mescalero Apache • 5 Census employees hired • Community open as of June 7 • Look to set date for operations to begin • Estimate: 2 weeks • Amber Carrillo, South and Western Pueblos • Census Bureau still hiring for NRFU in all tribal communities • Provided Status of Update Leave Operations in each community (slide 9) • Scheduling Q&A Session for CCCs • Will email invitation • Provided Response Rate Update QUESTION: If U/L was completed in an area but a home did not get a form, how would they get one? ANSWER: Amber will contact Operations Manager If others have this experience, please provide name and address. Census Help line is also available: (844) 330-2020.

Urban Coordinator Update ▪ Unsheltered (Homeless) Operations ▪ Service Based Enumeration scheduled for September 22-24 ▪ Census Bureau wants CBOs to connect to ensure contact information is available for Advance contact ▪ Drive-Thru Launch ▪ “Native Realities” will serve as drive-thru location ▪ Date will be determined ▪ Wi-Fi access will be available ▪ Available to join as other events are held A NAVA Education Project

Pueblo Coordinator Update ▪ Census Response Rates ▪ As of June 17, 2020 (slide 15) ▪ Experiences ▪ Kewa/Santo Domingo • Questions by respondents: • Should I include my daughter and her son if they live in Albuquerque? • What if two separate homes are under 1 roof? • Which address should I use? • Many pre- filled Q #9 with “Santo Domingo Pueblo” • Had them change to “Kewa Pueblo” ▪ Isleta • Many of the same questions • Some received more than one form; which to use? • Use form delivered to household (this week) • How do we know if we completed the questionnaire? • Online – Will get confirmation number • Phone – Call (844) 330-2020 A NAVA Education Project

  14. QUESTIONS about Census jobs • I applied 2 or 3 months ago; have not heard from Census • “I passed background check. I’m waiting for someone to call me.” ANSWER • Census Bureau is now calling people • Applicants should be getting call • if not call Recruitment 1-855-562-2020, choose Option 3 ▪ 2020 Census Outreach Funds ▪ Congratulations! Money is being spent! ▪ Final report (ending June 30) due July 10 ▪ If there is any danger of having more than $1000 remaining, call or email Charlotte for assistance ▪ Phone Bank Training ▪ Communities where Update Leave has started
