Native American Cultural Center Interviews with Faculty, Staff and Students The following lists were complied from interviews with faculty, staff and students Interior Space Needs – Lounge with comfortable atmosphere. – Place to relax – Place for mini-concerts – Study area for at least 30 people – Computer Room with study carrels – Kitchen – Storage – Resource Room/Library – Museum or Exhibit Space – Tutoring Spaces - each for 2 -3 students

Native American Cultural Center Focus Group Meetings The following lists were complied from Focus Group Meetings with NMSU Students • Issues – Not enough resources – Not enough money to purchase supplies and text – Consistency – Not a family friendly campus – Not enough native students and native staff interaction – Not enough support – More student mentors needed

Native American Cultural Center Focus Group Meetings Each student at each Focus Group Meeting was given an opportunity to mark seven spaces that they felt should be a priority in the design of the Native American Cultural Center. The number in parenthesis represents the number of students that felt that space should be a priority. • Facility Space Requirements – Kitchen (7) – Student Organization Offices – Meeting spaces (6) – TV Room/Lounge (5) – 24 Hour Study Rooms (5) – Computer Labs (4) – Native American Resource Room/Library (4) – Meeting Rooms/Conference Room (4) – Office for student organization leaders and meeting place (4)
