Week of May 14, 1990 (28 years ago) – four students participated in a hunger strike that led to the establishment of the Cross Cultural Center. Our Values:

OUR MISSION

Born out of student activism and political struggle, the UC Davis Cross Cultural Center provides a culturally relevant community space where student voices can be expressed and respected. The CCC cultivates critical consciousness and cultural competency by providing learning

• pportunities at the crossroads of the many aspects of identities and
• experiences. By embracing our cultural and intellectual heritage, the

CCC supports student leadership in advancing our collective vision for community empowerment and social justice.

CULTURAL & EDUCATIONAL

Danzantes del Alma (founded in 1977) – student folklorico dance troupe celebrating traditional and contemporary Mexican, Chicanx and Latinx cultures. P.E.A.C.E. (Peer Education and Community Empowerment) – student peer education dedicated to undoing racism, sexism, homophobia and promoting a welcoming, respectful, living and learning environment.
