Meet Mrs. Pethan ❂ I have been teaching at St. Bernard School for 16 years and a member of St. Bernard Parish for 19 years. ❂ My two children, Nick and Zach, graduated from St. Bernard and Notre Dame Academy. Nick is a pilot studying at UW-Green Bay and flight instructing at CAVU Flight Academy. Zach is in his third year in the College of Engineering at UW-Madison ❂ I LOVE cats, football, baseball, airplanes, the beach, and traveling. ❂ I feel I am a coach in the classroom rather than a teacher. We are a team working together to grow academically, socially, and with God. I am a proud recipient of a Golden Apple Award.

  6. Welcome to Multi-Age! A unique learning and teaching ● experience A family of learners ● Builds experience and utilizes skills ● in teamwork, responsibility, and collaboration

  7. FLEXIBLE SEATING…. Really, the students pick their seat? SMART Seats 2 Research 1 Students… Outside the windows of our - choose a space that is best for them classroom is a dynamic, - have choices to mix it up during the day fast-paced, and ever-changing world full of choices. How can we - learn to be responsible and use space expect our students to solve appropriately problems and make choices independently if we constantly Choices solve their problems and make That’s why! 3 their choices for them? Our S tudents have over 40 choices classroom environments should of seats.   8. What do we do all day? Science or Communication Arts Math Faith Reading, Writing, Social Studi es Learning and growing Speaking, Phonics. and Guided math groups with Jesus STEM-Project Lead the Way, Spelling current events, and learning about the community

  9. But really we just ask questions all day long …. Why? How do you know that? What are you thinking about? Who can help with this? Turn and talk! What does that mean? Where can you look to find out about that? What is the next step? How can you solve that problem? Qu’est-ce que c’est? What do you need to fi figure that out? Que tiempo hace hoy? What choice did you make? What would Jesus do? What can you do to fi fix that?

  10. Technology Students have access to tablets, desktop computers, and a Smart Board. We use them daily in instruction, math, science, and reading.

Homework and Grading Grading: HO,e Homework Read 20 minutes 5 days a week and ● All grades are posted in Power ❏ record on the reading log sheet School Book reports attached to the reading ● Grades are shown on the work as log sheet ❏ Math homework page a few times a smiley faces, points, or a rubric ● week Homework is weighted less than ❏ Language Arts homework page once ● classwork, projects, and tests a week Students earn S+, S, and S- ❏ Practice spelling words ● grades. S+ is above expectations, Practice math facts to 2 0 ● S is meeting expectations, and S- Please return all homework by the due date! is below expectations.
