  9. Homework Year Set Work & Comment Level or Reading 6 20-30mins Homework reflects work 7 40mins done in class providing consolidation experiences. 8 50mins Assignments are set 9 60mins according to content taught. 10 60mins

Diaries & Due Dates � All students are expected to complete assigned homework by the due date. � Electronic recording of homework is encouraged in order for students to keep track of assessments and homework. � A term assessment calendar is given with estimated due dates for each assessment. � Homework Centre- Wednesday 3:15-4:00 pm

  11. Extension and TOM’s � Extension and acceleration available to students � 14 Students will be invited into the Tournament of Minds Competition in Term 3

Expectations of Students � To arrive at class prepared with required equipment � To complete assigned work set by each teacher � To maintain the school image in the community � To follow the 4 E’s school model – Respect, Responsibility, Maximise learning time and Service � To take care of property - personal, other’s and school � To be respectful and truthful at all times � Use appropriate language

Detention/Homework Recovery � Detention/Homework recovery runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes for students that have not completed required classwork, homework or assignments or who exhibit poor behaviour Students are advised to bring a note from a parent identifying why they have not completed homework or an assignment by the due date.

  15. Bullying/Harassment � PCS has a “ Zero Tolerance ” of bullying. � If a child is found to be bullying or being bullied, the child will immediately be removed from the area where it is taking place and the incident fully investigated. � It is important that your child informs teachers of any issues in order for teachers to take action.

  17. iPad Program /Mobile Phones � iPads are loaned to students � Educational tool � Use at home in open areas � Cyber Safety � Phones are placed into the lock boxes in PCG classes

Communication � Please email your child’s teachers if you have any subject related concerns � Email or phone (leave a message with the front office) your child’s Pastoral Care teacher if you have any general concerns or questions. They will do the same. � Use Compass to help you � Your child’s PCG teacher is your first point of contact

  19. Education Support � Engine Room – Sensory program � Class withdrawal programs � In class support with teachers assistants � Eye testing every 2 years, hearing/auditory processing � Judo, swimming and rebounding on a trampoline

  20. Helping Your Child � Healthy lunch boxes and water intake - Whole foods and less refined, more water… � - Zinc and Magnesium deficiencies � After school sports? Fitness � Sleep � Toxins – what is in it? � Depression/anxiety- Check in with your child regularly to be sure they are emotionally ok… how are they coping with school and friendships � Tutoring
