Customer Requirements/Product Selection

Target audience: Children ages 10+ We choose our product because

  • Of its functionality as a learning game that is fun and gender neutral.
  • It is a unique prototype, that with work,

could function as a real toy.

Conceptual Design

  • STEM trivia game
  • Arduino for score keeping and

category selection

  • Arduino cased in a box with
  • nly the LCD and buttons

visible

  • Four spaces for the stacks of

cards attached to the box

  • We reached the initial design

by voting and discussing each component of the design

slide-4

Actual Design

  • Kept the original idea of how the

Arduino would be used

  • Redesigned the case so that the

Arduino is completely visible

○ The LCD and buttons had to be directly on the breadboard

  • Changed the way stacks of cards

would be divided

○ Fit our new case for the Arduino better

Customer Feedback and Results

  • We were successfully able to prototype our design into a functioning

STEM game.

  • “Great prototype design!”
  • “I can’t wait to see how it turns out!”
  • “I love it!”
  • “If this were sold in stores, I would definitely buy it for my students at

school!”

Brief Summary/Conclusions

  • For our project we made a trivia game for kids ages 10+ that focused on

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

  • We started our design with an arduino to keep score while using cards for

the actual questions.

  • Our design ended up featuring most of what we originally planned with a

few small changes in the process, for example the way we held the cards and having the arduino be open.

  • All in all, this prototype was relatively cheap and received great feedback.
  • Overall this is prototype accomplished our goals of being a fun,

educational game/toy for kids.
