Safety is First Priority
- Lightning Detection System
▪ Riverview & Phillips Park ▪ If lightning detected nearby --- 1 long, loud blast. ▪ Clear the field immediately & go to a safe location (not under trees or
standing in the parking lot).
▪ The system will sound only once – does not keep going off ▪ All clear (30 minutes) - the system will send off 3 long, loud blasts similar to
the first one. At that time, people are allowed back onto the fields.
- Guidelines if there is no system at your park (don’t assume it is
working)
▪ Leave the field immediately at the first sighting of thunder or lightning ▪ No one may be on the field until 30 minutes after the last time lightning was
seen OR thunder was heard.
