Attendance ž See the McKamy Student Handbook on the McKamy website: www.mckamy.lisd.net — To receive credit in a class, a student must attend at least 90% of the school year. — Students must bring a note from a parent if the parent did not call or email the attendance clerk. If parent called or emailed concerning their student’s absence no note is required. — If a student was at the doctor, then they SHOULD bring a medical note. This helps in regards to funding and decisions made by the attendance committee regarding excessive absences. — Per LISD Board Policy, work missed DURING AN UNEXCUSED ABSENCE cannot be made up and the grade will be zero.

Planned Absences ž Communication, communication, communication ž The principal is designated to make decisions about absences being excused (other than illness, family emergencies, deaths in the family) ž Prior notification is required ž Pre-Approved Absence Forms , located in the front office and on our website, are required LISD Principals may not approve more than five (5) planned absence days for the school year.

Skyward Family Access ž Update parent contact info in SKYWARD ž Online Gradebook is in SKYWARD ž BE SURE ALL FORMS ARE COMPLETED ONLINE IN SKYWARD, INCLUDING 1:X FORMS ž District’s Grading Period is NINE WEEKS ž Progress Reports and Report Cards are accessible in Skyward Portfolio ž 1:X parent information, iPad annual $40 fee

  19. 7 th Graders Only ž If you haven’t already submitted shot records for this school year, your class schedule will be held in the office until they are received.

  20. Yearbooks ž Yearbooks will be sold online at www.Balfour.com ž Aug 28-Sep 30, $35 for book, $5 for name print ž Oct 1-all books sold, $40, $5 name print ž 8 th Grade Dedication info will be sent to parents in late September
