High School Mascot Rebranding

Lawrence Central Bear Missouri State University Bear Lawrence North Wildcat Kansas State University Wildcat LC & LN Current logos used with permission from Missouri and Kansas State Universities.

Rationale for Change:

• Summer 2018 contact from Missouri State

regarding discontinuing use of the current Lawrence Central Bear, for which they hold the trademark.

• While there has been no contact from Kansas

State regarding the Wildcat, they could make the same decision at any time.

• Trademarking of the high school logos will

prevent outside interference with district and school branding and marketing.

School re-branding committee members included:

• Professional branding/marketing/graphics agency
• District Administration
• Building Administration
• Coaches
• Parents

Preserving the Past...

In committee, review was done of both schools’ past high school yearbooks to see the evolution of the Bear and Wildcat logos
