What is Magnetic Stirrer/ Magnetic Mixer? A magnetic stirrer or magnetic mixer is a laboratory device that employs a rotating magnetic field to cause a stir bar immersed in a liquid to spin very quickly and thus stirring the liquid. The rotating field created by a rotating magnet placed beneath the vessel with the liquid.
Working Principle of Magnetic Stirrer 1. Power button 2. AC/DC adapter 3. Motor/ Fan 4. Potentiometer 5. Magnet
Factors on which speed depends 1. Distance between the vessel and stirrer surface 2. The volume and viscosity of the solution 3. Size of the stirring bar Upgraded Versions 1. With heater and temperature probe 2. Warming free cell-culture stirrer 3. Multiple stirrers
