The next component in the deceleration ramp is the Weigh In Motion (WIM) scales. These scales weigh, determine speed, and axle spacing.

Once the vehicle crosses the WIM scale the vehicle record is displayed on the graphical user interface (GUI). Along with the vehicle record this GUI provides a graphical view of the traffic flow within the facility.

Now that the system has read license plate, searched database, determined dimensions, and weighed the vehicle it now automatically directs non violators to the bypass lane (left) or violators to static scale lane (right) as in the picture.

Next the vehicle is sequenced on the static scale via red/green traffic lights.
