completed; north stand installation in progress

  • Work on the roof and façade will start in October
  • Terracing is being installed alongside the frame,

section by section

  • Lionel Road South deep drainage works ongoing

Environmental Sustainability

Central Southern (CSS) and Central Eastern (CES) residential design:

  • Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4
  • BREEAM Very Good for the Community Trust Offices
  • Provision of appropriate surface water attenuation storage on

site

  • All luminaires within the dwellings will be 'low energy'
  • All apartments are designed to Life Time Home requirements
  • A water usage specification of 89.3 l/day
  • CHP boiler systems for both CES and CSS
  • Cycle storage for homes
  • Implementation of Travel Plan to encourage the use of

sustainable travel modes

  • Green/brown roofs located at the link between Blocks G & H

and to the Blocks E and F uppermost roofs

  • Kitchen gardens/mini allotments to amenity terraces

Construction:

  • 90% of original demolished

buildings have been crushed and reused on site as pilling mats

  • £2.5 million spent on

remediating the land and cleaning up so that it can be used again

  • Water harvesting being utilised

across the project

Stadium design:

  • Stadium redesign reduces construction materials and energy usage
  • Ecology value of the site to be increased through external planting
  • Brise soleil shading and overhangs to help to cool the building and Stadium glazing designed

to minimise winter heating needs

  • Building Energy Management System (BEMS) to provide easy central control of plant and

equipment

  • Photovoltaic panels on the west section of the south stand roof
  • Lighting sensors to control lighting based on occupancy and use of and energy efficient lift

system

  • Water leak detection and monitoring to reduce usage and attenuation tanks to minimise

surface water runoff
