The scale of the problem

  • Two thirds of people with the condition live in the

community and almost a third of those live alone.

  • In 2015, only 44% of people with dementia* received

a diagnosis of dementia.

  • One out of 20 people are under 65 yrs
  • The Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia 2020

sets an ambition for over half of those diagnosed to be living in a Dementia Friendly Community
