Meaning of the holiday!!! The meaning of the holiday (kwanzaa) means “first”. Eight kids wanted to represent one of the letters in Kwanzaa. Now I know what you are thinking, the word “Kwanzaa” has seven letters. But the kids added an extra letter so it is Kwanzaa.
Who celebrates Kwanzaa Africa celebrates kwanzaa and kwanzaa is celebrated mainly by celebrated African Americans. Not a lot of Americans knew what kwanzaa was in the 60s. So they asked and asked people if they knew what Kwanzaa was. And the they asked a man and he said he invented kwanzaa.
