Spartanburg’s Proposal

Spartanburg proposed to increase fitness and decrease obesity through two initiatives: The Healthy Schools Initiative: A four-year effort launched in August 2016 working with nine Spartanburg County schools to create environments that encourage and support healthy eating and physical activity. The Healthy Community Initiative: A new initiative that will build on the early work in the Town of Pacolet and the emerging relationship with the SC Hospital Association’s Working Well program and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. So far, eight municipalities have committed.
