An easy to use data temperature monitoring system designed for the catering and hospitality industry to:

  • fully cover Environmental Health procedures
  • increase the safety of food storage
  • reduce annual running cost
  • increase the life of equipment
  • reduce long term Capital Cost
  • save CO2 emissions and reduce carbon footprint

What is the Kooltrak system?

The Kooltrak Data Logger: Approximately the size of a large button the data logger contains a micro chip and lithium battery the data logger is secured with mastic and mounted on a stainless steel plate to the inside of the fridge/freezer unit on the `load line`. The data logger is easily read by the use of a sensor on an interface cable. Once connected temperature data results are automatically downloaded in 2-3 seconds and saved in the Kooltrak `Data Display` program within the Netbook.

A system designed to make Financial Savings by:

  • reducing unnecessary fuel consumption
  • introducing efficient timing of defrost cycles
  • reducing unnecessary maintenance bills
  • introducing selected nightly idle periods of plant

Key Benefits

A system designed to Reduce

  • wear and tear of refrigeration plant
  • capital cost
  • losses in stock through incorrect storage temperatures
  • CO2 emissions and reduce carbon footprint

Key Benefits

A system designed to Establish

  • efficient working practices

A system designed to Identify

  • when refrigeration plant is working inefficiently
  • working practices that result in stock wastage
  • intermittent faults

The Professional view: John Hukku, Regional Meat Advisor of The Food Standards Agency

  • “All establishments handling food should have a data monitoring

system in place that takes away the human element of doubt and the Kooltrak system meets this requirement”

  • Short listed and runner up at the Excellence in Catering

Equipment and Supplies Awards 2005 for `Refrigeration – Most Innovative New Product` and described as `indispensable temperature loggers`

  • “A simple and cost effective solution for temperature recording”

Data provided will establish:

  • when a unit is faulty
  • exact times of temperatures
  • an undisputed audit paper trail
  • budget controls

The following results are very common and illustrate:

  • the waste of costly energy
  • additional wear and tear of refrigeration plant
  • increase in additional `down time` of plant equipment
  • increase in annual running cost
  • increase in long term Capital Cost

 The 24 hour cycle is 2.18 times more expensive than the 11 hour cycle.

 by increasing your running temperature from -25°C to -18°C

Your running costs are reduced by 55%

24 hour cycle is 1.050kw X 24hrs X £0.074 X 365 days = £680.65 11 hour cycle is 1.050kw X 11hrs X £0.074 X 365 days = £311.97 If consumption is 1.050kw per hour, then –  At -18°C the compressor will be running on an 11 hour cooling cycle.  At -25°C compressor is running continuously, on a 24 hour cooling cycle.  The 24 hour cycle is 3 times more expensive than the 8 hour cycle.

 by increasing your running temperature from 0°C to 4°C

Your running costs are reduced by 67%

24 hour cycle is 1.050kw X 24hrs X £0.074 X 365 days = £680.65  8 hour cycle is 1.050kw X 8hrs X £0.074 X 365 days = £226.88 If consumption is 1.050kw per hour, then –  At 4°C the compressor will be running on an 8 hour cooling cycle.  At 0°C compressor is running continuously, on a 24 hour cooling cycle.

  • Now refrigeration units are monitored 24/7 by the Kooltrak system and are

working to their optimum the next stage for energy savings is the EndoCube.

  • It is recommended the EndoCube is installed after the Kooltrak system has been

in operation for a period of two weeks, to ensure refrigeration units are

  • perating correctly and adjusted if necessary by a qualified refrigeration

engineer, as recommended by the EndoCube inventor Harry Banham.

  • The reason?

Should a refrigeration unit be operating incorrectly the EndoCube would not give the desired results and could mask a costly inherent problem with the user being unaware; having the Kooltrak data monitoring system in place eradicates this risk and opens the way to further considerable financial savings.

The next stage to Greater Energy Savings
