Association of Ammonia Refrigeration (AAR) was formed in 2012 as a registered National Volunteer organization in INDIA by dedicated and knowledgeable professionals who are experts in Ammonia Refrigeration. AAR OBJECTIVE To promote safe use of ammonia as refrigerant through education, training, information and standards where it is widely used in food processing sectors like, sea food, Meat, Poultry, cold storages, Dairy, ice cream industry,Fruits and vegetable processing sector, Brewery, Pharma and chemical industry etc.

• Membership Fee Rs. 1,50,000/- for 5 years validity.
• Number of nominated Members allowed 3 by the company every year
• Corporate member will be allowed to use organization logo on their

publication, website etc. declaring as ”Member AAR”

• All Corporate member logo will be displayed on AAR website and they can

Log in and see current activities across India.

 Membership fee proposed Rs. 5000/-for 3 Years and can be

renewed prevailing fee at the time of renewal

 Individual member is not allowed to use logo of the organization

 However, Individual member is allowed to print “INDIVIDUAL

MEMBER AAR” on their business card only.

 Each individual member will have one vote  Free Entry for Annual Event called ARCON.  Can get access to website and update knowledge on day to

WHY NEW STANDARD? - PURPOSE FOR NEW STANDARD

• 1. IS-660 is general standard-not specifically for ammonia

refrigeration & was prepared in 1962

• 2. Ammonia systems are mostly field erected by erection team not

necessarily skilled and unaware of issues arising out of incorrect practices.

• 3. Ammonia, if leaks can cause issues of safety and hence need

special precautions.

• 4. The existing global standards are not specific to Indian conditions

& need changes to meet specific design/testing requirements to suit Indian conditions.
