WIDER SCHOOL OPENING FROM JUNE 8TH 2020

Dear Parents/Carers, We hope you are well and your children are looking forward to returning to school after ten weeks of lockdown! As we informed you previously, Kingshurst Primary will be beginning its phased return of pupils on Monday. However this will be very different in timings and logistics. In this guide, we have tried to give you the information you need to bring your children to school safely and also give a little insight into what classrooms will look like next week. You may wish to share this with your children. We are looking forward to seeing you at school on Monday, All Staff

WIDER SCHOOL OPENING FROM JUNE 8TH 2020

The school kitchen will be open and serving hot lunch

  • choices. There will be one hot and one vegetarian
  • ption.

Lunches will be eaten in the hall (or hopefully outside if the weather stays fine). Children will remain with children in their bubble and will not mix with others during this time. Children will order these in the same way as previously and those not eligible for either free schools meals or the universal free school meal offer (EYFS and KS1) should pay via parent pay. Alternatively, children may bring in their own packed lunch. There will also be a pudding option available each day.

WIDER SCHOOL OPENING FROM JUNE 8TH 2020

As children may well have grown a lot since March and with many shops closed, we appreciate it has been difficult to source new uniform. As a result, we have decided that it is not expected for children to wear school uniform on their return to school. However, guidance recommends clean clothes every day to help reduce the spread of the virus. Therefore, during the Summer term, the emphasis will be on 'clean and smart' rather than exact school uniform. We will be using the outside area whenever possible so children do need to wear comfortable, secure footwear – children cannot bring in a change of footwear for break or PE times.

slide-5
SLIDE 5

Protection from the sun Please ensure your child has sun cream already applied – staff will not be able to apply sun cream to any children. Older children may apply this themselves but must not share their personal sun cream bottles. Children will spend time outdoors whenever possible so please send your child to school with a named sunhat and sunglasses. Water bottles Children should bring in their own named water bottles. These must be taken home every day to be cleaned. Break time snacks Children may bring in their own healthy snack for break time. No sharing allowed. Medical Please refer to the First Aid Policy for details. If your child uses an inhaler, this will be available as usual in the classroom and when outdoors. Please ensure you have updated the school with any new medical information. You may wish to send in a new inhaler. Hayfever tablets must be taken prior to coming to school.
