Mercedes S-Class Premier

Mercedes “Vision Accomplished” Show The new Mercedes-Benz S-class premiered to great fanfare at Kai Tak Terminal. An elaborate stage was erected and a massive chassis hung above the outdoor apron area. Huge plastic blinds curtained off the elements and served as giant windows to the magnificent

  • harbour. Dramatic indoor lighting coupled with

the vibrant city lights set the mood as guests sipped cocktails, mingled and watched the spectacular harbour sunset. Shortly after nightfall, 4 captivating S-class vehicles were premiered and displayed to the equally enchanting backdrop of the Hong Kong skyline.

Audi A3 Sportback Experience

Audi unveiled their all new A3 Sportback to a hip, enthusiastic crowd on a beautiful sunny afternoon in September 2013. It was a star- studded event as plenty of local celebrities were

  • n hand, including singer and actor Aaron Kwok,

who shared the stage with the striking Audi A3. In Kai Tak, Audi picked a venue that shared their philosophy and slogan: “Forward thinking and ahead.” The event showed off Kai Tak’s remarkable capacity as a function venue as Audi maximized every region of the terminal. For example, the

  • utdoor apron area was used to showcase their

impressive line-up of cars, while the baggage hall highlighted a stage and a cocktail reception area featuring dancers and stilt performers. The parking areas were lined with Audi A3s, from where they were taken out for test drives on the long, straight roads outside the terminal.

“Cap San Augustin” Christening Ceremony

Hamburg Süd celebrated the christening of its new container ship “Cap San Augustin” (one of the largest reefer capacity ships worldwide) on 29 November 2013. 200+ guests were on hand to witness the colossal ship’s christening ceremony at the state-of-the-art Kai Tak Terminal. There was a fabulous cocktail reception with catering from the Royal Garden, followed by speeches, samba performances and eye-opening ship tours. The giant shutters separating the indoor and outdoor area were lifted as guests enjoyed the beautiful weather and marveled at the magnificent ship and harbour views, while

  • thers enjoyed the samba performances and cocktail

reception inside the air-conditioned hall.

Cruise Holiday Expo

The Expo, organized by the TIC (Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong) and co‐organized by the Tourism Commission and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, attracted about 30,000 visitors in three days, with some 6,000 trade visitors showing up on the Trade Day, and about 24,000 people present over the next two Public Days. There were 48 exhibitors, of which 17 were international cruise brands and 31 were local travel agents. A total of 28 free seminars on cruise travel were held, which were hugely popular and drew close to 4,000 attendees. The event not only demonstrated the potential

  • f Hong Kong’s cruise market, it also established

Kai Tak’s venue capability and versatility in managing such a large scale 3-day mega event.

Transportation/ Getting Here:  Minibus: Route service to and from Kowloon Bay MTR station available daily from 7am-8pm.  Ferry: Kai Tak Terminal is just a short taxi ride away (5 mins) from the Kwun Tong pier.  MTR: Kai Tak Terminal is only a short taxi ride away (5 mins) from the Kowloon Bay MTR station.  Taxi: Fares to and from Kowloon major metro areas are less than HK$100.  Private Car Parking: 120 hourly parking spaces are available during opening hours. Rates are HK$8/hour Mon-Thu, and HK$12/hour Fri-Sun. Event parking can be arranged.  Shuttle bus: The terminal has 70 coach bays available for use.
