Overview of CASN Accreditation Process

  • CASN’s mission is to lead nursing education and nursing

scholarship in support of healthier Canadians.

  • In order to obtain Accreditation, Schools of Nursing

undergo a review of both the Educational Unit and the Nursing Education Program.

  • Each is assessed against a separate set of predetermined

standards of excellence, and receives a separate Accreditation Decision.

  • If a School offers a nursing education program at multiple

sites, than both sites (educational units) must be reviewed independently.

  • Both U of C and MHC complete the Educational Unit

Review
