Among the tasks carried out by HIDRAES Ingenieros Consultores, it is worth mentioning the analysis of the different traffic indicators in the sections of interest, in

  • rder to obtain the most reliable data necessary for the design and evaluation of the

road infrastructure. For hydrological tasks, personnel with extensive experience in the design, conservation and expansion of crossing works, drains and similar structures, as well as experts in river capacity and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are assigned. In the same way, topography works are developed, both in the initial phases of the project and during the construction work itself for control and layout. Regarding geological and geotechnical research, there is a large group

METHODOLOGY (I)

16

Initial Stage:

It consists

  • f

a detailed diagnosis, under inspection, description and inventory, of each of the sections. Where the depth

  • f

technical engineering studies is defined for the proposal of final designs.

Operation Stage:

Work done to obtain data prior to design, the logistics plan for its construction:

  • Topographic surveys of detail, complying with the

georeferenced monumentation according to specifications.

  • Traffic counts
  • Soil studies and location of material banks, for use.
slide-16
SLIDE 16

METHODOLOGY (II) Design

Based on the initial inventory, we proceeded to:

  • Horizontal and vertical geometric designs, with the greatest adaptation to

the existing and to the proposal of a section of roadway according to results

  • f the operation data.
  • Design of the pavement structure according to methodologies and

standards used internationally.

  • Design of the drainage works, carrying out a whole hydrological and

hydraulic study of the capacity of the existing structures and proposals along the length of each section.

  • Design of signaling, demarcation and road safety with the use of the

Central American Manual of Uniform Signs.

Delivery Stage:

The following reports were submitted for the construction of the designed section:

  • Estimated amounts of work.
  • Unit costs.
  • Technical specifications and documents of bidding rules of the

work.

  • Risk analysis of structures designed in accordance with the
  • Central American Manual on Bridge Management,
  • Environmental Impact Study, thus complying with the

requirements established by MARN.
