What is PCA?
❖ Designed to meet the growing interest in students who want to earn college credits in high school. ❖ Provide students the opportunity for a more rigorous, personalized course of study ❖ Students will take honors and/or Advanced Placement core courses in freshman and sophomore years of high school ❖ Students will engage in college courses at ACC in junior and senior years of high school tuition free with books provided ❖ Students will engage in seminar work designed to promote success at the postsecondary level, along with community service opportunities ❖ Goal is to earn high school diploma and Associate’s Degree simultaneously, as well as AP credits that are transferable to most colleges and universities

BTC 181 - Basic Laboratory Techniques
Basic skills and knowledge necessary in a biological or chemical laboratory. Emphasis is placed on good manufacturing practices, safety, solution preparation, and equipment operation and maintenance following standard
- perating procedures.
CHEM 131 - Chemistry
Fundamental concepts of inorganic chemistry. Topics include measurement, matter and energy, atomic and molecular structure, nuclear chemistry, stoichiometry, chemical formulas and reactions, chemical bonding, gas laws, solutions, and acids and bases.
BIO 111 - Biology
Explore the principles and concepts of biology. Emphasis is placed on basic biological chemistry, cell structure and function, metabolism and energy transformation, genetics, evolution, classification, and other related topics.
BIO 175 - Microbiology
Topics include an overview of microbiology and aspects of medical microbiology, identification and control of pathogens, disease transmission, host resistance, and immunity

○ Applications will be available starting December 21st for PCA ■ Paper applications will be available to counselors ■ There will be links on ABSS website, along with school websites, to the application
- BioTech Pathway
○ Complete commitment form starting December 1st ○ Spring 2019 class registration – register for BIO 111 and BIO 175
