GIF tests status report: data • 14 M + 4 M + 2 M + 120k = 20 M evts collected • Threshold scan (34-36-38 mV) ~ 1M evts each; • Counting rate scan (0, 800, 1100, 1500 Hz/cm2) ~ 1 M evts each; • HV scan (2700V, 2745V) with source on/off ~ 1 M evts each; • Atlas settings for electronics with source on/off ~ 1 M evts each; • Time over Threshold scan with source on/off and threshold scan (34-36-38-40-42-44 mV) ~ 10k evts each. Analysis status • Calibration nutples produced for all runs taken so far; • Meeting on Friday with Oliver and Felix to best coordinate analysis efforts; • Albert started working on Garfield simulations and sent first plots (limited statistics). F. Legger – MPI, May 14, 2008

GIF tests: the future Gas Gas Gas • Test a prototype chamber (surface ~1 m2); GIF GIF GIF • GIF is booked till the end of COMPASS 2008, but can be used till end 2009; ATLAS • We will probably be ready to start beginning 2009; • Concern about setup dimensions: 1.2 m (width) x 2.5 m (length).
