Entrance Requirements
What do I need to get in to my program of interest?
- Entrance requirements can be found through the
Academic Calendar
- Find your program in the Program Index and scroll to
“Entrance requirements”
- There are generally two options:
- Option 1: Secondary School
- Option 2: University entrance
- EXAMPLE PROGRAM – Bachelor of Kinesiology (next
slide)

Unsure of Program or Don’t Meet Entrance Requirements?

deadline, but want to begin taking classes at UFV
- Entrance requirements
Qualifying Studies (QS) is a great place to start! It is for students who:
QS Requirements
- You can not graduate from QS. It is an “admission
category,” not a program.
- Think of QS as a way to get started/ a launching
pad – but it’s not your end goal.
- You must meet the requirements for, and apply
into, a certificate, diploma or degree program by the time you complete 30 university-level credits (approximately 10 classes).
Upgrading
- UFV offers a range of
upgrading courses (ie Math, Chemistry, Biology, English)
- Upgrading department
Note: Tuition fees for upgrading courses are not the same as university level courses
Need to upgrade for program entry or to meet the pre-requisites of a course?
What Will This Cost?
2020/2021 academic year*
Tuition fees
- Paid per semester, based on number of credits taken
- $169.01/credit for a 100-400 level course (ie $507.03 for a 3credit course)
- $20.99/ credit for an upgrading course (ie $62.97 for a 3credit course)
Semester based fees
- ~$160/ semester (regardless of number of classes taken)
- Does not include Continuing Education programs & courses
Health & Dental fees
- Full-time students only (min 9cr/ semester)
- Covered by an equivalent plan? Learn about the Opt-out through SUS.
Program-specific fees
- CDA, HCA, PN diploma, trades, GDD diploma, BEd, etc

Ready To Apply?
- 1. If you have further questions, visit the Future
Student website to speak with a Recruiter.
- 2. Submit an online application & pay the
application fee ($49.69)
- 3. Order official high school & post-secondary
transcripts to be sent to UFV
- 4. Submit any additional documents (if required)
- 5. Check your application status
- 6. Contact Admissions directly if you have a concern
about your application

- sign up for UFV alerts
