A BRIEF HRNA HISTORY
- The property that is now HRNA had been in the
Hedrick Family Trust since 1940.
- In 2001, the State Coastal Conservancy purchased
223.11 acres from Sanger Hedrick.
– One of first properties purchased as part of the Santa Clara River Parkway initiative; goal is to permanently conserve a continuous stretch of the Santa Clara River from the ocean to Fillmore.
- The Coastal Conservancy granted the land to the
Friends of the Santa Clara River in 2001, with help from The Nature Conservancy.
- Management Plan prepared by URS in 2002.
