Come, let us sing to the Lord; let us shout for joy to the rock ck of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and raise a loud shout to him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great ki king above all gods. In his hand are the caverns of the earth, and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his for he made it, and his hands have moulded the dry land. Come, let us bow down, and bend the kn knee, and kn kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God,and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Oh, that today we would hearken to his voice!

Exodus 12:1-14 Exodus 12:1-14

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt: This month shall mark for you the beginning

  • f months; it shall be the fjrst month of the year for
  • you. Tell the whole congregation of Israel that on

the tenth of this month they are to take a lamb for each family, a lamb for each household. If a household is too small for a whole lamb, it shall join its closest neighbour in obtaining one; the lamb shall be divided in proportion to the number of people who eat of it. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a year old male; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats. You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month; then the whole assembled congregation of Israel shall slaughter it at twilight. They shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it. They shall eat the lamb that same night; they shall eat it roasted over the fjre with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Do not eat any of it raw or boiled in water, but roasted over the fjre, with its head, legs, and inner organs. You shall let none of it remain until the morning; anything that remains until the morning you shall burn.

SLIDE 3

This is how you shall eat it: your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your stafg in your hand; and you shall eat it hurriedly. It is the passover of the Lord. For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike down every fjrstborn in the land of Egypt, both human beings and animals;

  • n all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgements: I

am the Lord. The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live: when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. This day shall be a day of remembrance for you. You shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord; throughout your generations you shall observe it as a perpetual ordinance.

The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

PSALM 149 PSALM 149

Hallelujah! Sing to the Lord a new song; sing his praise in the congregation of the faithful. Let Israel rejoice in his maker; let the ch children of Zion be joyful in their ki king. Let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing praise to him with timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes pleasure in his people and adorns the poor with vict ctory.

Let the faithful rejoice in triumph; let them be joyful

  • n their beds.

Let the e prais ises s of God be e in in their eir throat and a two- ed edged ed sword in in their eir hand; To wreak vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples; To bin ind thei eir kin ings s in in chain ins s and their eir noble les wit with lin links s of f iron; To infmict on them the judgement decreed; this is glory for all his faithful people. Hallelujah!

Romans 13:8-14 Romans 13:8-14

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfjlled the law. The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet"; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, "Love your neighbour as yourself." Love does no wrong to a neighbour; therefore, love is the fulfjlling of the law. Besides this, you know what time it is, how it is now the moment for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we became believers; the night is far gone, the day is

  • near. Let us then lay aside the works of darkness

and put on the armour of light; let us live honourably as in the day, not in revelling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarrelling and jealousy. Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the fmesh, to gratify its desires.

The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Jesus said, "If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confjrmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the ofgender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you, if two

  • f you agree on earth about anything you ask, it

will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."

The Gospel of Christ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Holy Eucharist Holy Eucharist

The Lord be with you. An And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

We give you thanks and praise, almighty God, through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour and

  • Redeemer. He is your living Word, through whom you

have created all things. By the power of the Holy Spirit he took fmesh of the Virgin Mary and shared our human nature. He lived and died as

  • ne of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of

all. In fulfjlment of your will he stretched out his hands in sufgering, to bring release to those who place their hope in you; and so he won for you a holy people. He chose to bear our griefs and sorrows, and to give up his life on the cross, that he might shatter the chains of evil and death, and banish the darkness of sin and despair. By his resurrection he brings us into the light of your

  • presence. Now with all creation we raise our voices to

proclaim the glory of your name.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Holy and gracious God, accept our praise, through your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ; who on the night he was handed over to sufgering and death, took bread and gave you thanks, saying, “Take, and eat: this is my body which is broken for you.” In the same way he took the cup, saying, “This is my blood which is shed for you. When you do this, you do it in memory of me.”

Gather into one all who share in these sacred mysteries, fjlling us with the Holy Spirit and confjrming our faith in the truth, that together we may praise you and give you glory through your Servant, Jesus Christ. All glory and honour are yours, Father and Son, with the Holy Spirit in the holy Church, now and for ever. Amen.
