BUILDING CAPACITY WITHIN FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

  • Help parents/family understand how the State of Texas and the Plainview ISD measure student

learning to make sure students learn what they need to be ready for the next grade.

  • Train parents, using technology and other strategies, to help their children at home.
  • Build a strong home-school partnership where parents value school staff and school staff value

parents as partners in educating all children.

  • Use state, federal, and local resources to help each schoolwork with parents to highlight the value of

education in the lives of children.

  • Provide clear, constant, and consistent communication to parents about what is going on at school and

how home support can help students learn what they need to be ready for the next grade level.

  • Help schools build fun and interesting academic-based family engagement activities

BOARD GOAL: The district will increase parent academic focused meetings from 19% to 25% by May

2019
