Plastic Writing Instrument & Battery Recycling Program Launched! • Collection bins on landfill & recycling bins – One per floor, per building. – In general, located at main entrance on first floor and principal entrance on the other floors. – Plastic writing instruments and batteries in same bin.

  4. What’s Accepted? Plastic Writing Instruments Batteries • • Pens Alkaline (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V) • Mechanical pencils (Bag or tape each individual battery.) • Markers (dry erase, permanent, coloring) • Caps- Pen and Marker • NO wooden or colored pencils.

  5. Battery Recycling Important Note • Only alkaline batteries accepted • Each individual battery must be either: – placed in a bag (provided on side of collection containers) OR – terminal ends taped • Why? Prevents current transfer. • Most important for 9V • Have lots of batteries to recycle?
