Cheltenham School District Mission & Vision Statements

CSD Building and Maintenance Update High School

The proposal for the structural inspection of the auditorium exterior wall has come through from Providence Engineering Corp for $10,500. The services include the following:

• Record of existing conditions for purpose of preparing construction

drawings.

• Contract drawings in electronic format for the project, AutoCad.
• Structural notes and drawings that define material specification for the

project.

Cedarbrook

• The Township has agreed to pay the total cost for playground

equipment and installation. The playground was located at CBK prior to new construction.

• At this time, tree removal is necessary to establish an area for the

proposed playground equipment. The estimated cost for this work is $18,000, which the Township has agreed to equally divide with the School District.

• Township will be submitting a draft lease agreement for the playground

for the school district to review. Elkins Park

• The boiler repair is currently taking place.
• A new skylight has been installed in the conference room. Painting and

new lighting was completed over the last few months and is back in

• peration.

CSD Building and Maintenance Update Wyncote

• Leak detection company were out last week to locate the leak in the piping

between the mechanical room and cooling tower.

• Leak was located in the supply line to the cooling tower, the leak was

located close to the cooling tower by the gas meters.

• They are working on a quote to repair this section on piping.
• As the leak is not located on the roadway we will have the ability to repair

this while school is in session.

Cheltenham Elementary

• No Updates

District Wide

• Reviewing BMS and HVAC service contracts.
• Rectifying BMS issues within our schools with our new BMS contract.
• Summer project planning.
• Reviewing custodial schedules, ordering procedures and planning for

summer.

• Reviewing service contracts that expire at the end of the school year.

CSD Facilities Condition Assessment

• Our kick off meeting was held last week.
• Information is being collected to be given to EMG for the report.
• Site visits have been scheduled for the High School, CBK and EP for the

week of February 24th.

Elkins Park Air Conditioning Update

• Stage 1 Electrical Works have been scheduled for February 18th.
• CSD Maintenance staff are running wiring to the first stage rooms we

will be completing first.

• Our aim is to have the Air Conditioning units installed by spring break in

the 16 rooms we are looking to complete in the first stage.

Sustainability Update

• Meeting was held with Waste Management.
• Waste Management will be performing site visits to look at our

buildings to help establish a program for the district for our recycling.

• Current Energy Management Policy 823 is being reviewed.

CSD School Dude Update

• School Dude has been in operation now for 5 months and we have

closed out 3,954 work orders.

• 3,082 closed work orders were entered into the system.
• 872 work orders were created through our preventative maintenance

section of school dude.

• The last 5 months have seen great improvement of the use of school

dude, although we still have many areas to improve to gather the correct information of what is going on in our schools.

• FS direct training was held last week and we are working with school

dude to see how we can make some changes to help our booking procedures for external users.
