Step One – Create navigation structure (template)

popup Selected Safety Information SSI popup Important Safety Information ISI popup Study Description SD popup Reference Ref popup Prescribing Information PI Primary Navigation Global functions primary nav Title 0.00 A primary nav Summary 100.00 primary nav 20.00 primary nav Toolbox 90.00 primary nav 30.00 primary nav 10.00 popup Glossary SSI secondary nav 10.40 secondary nav 10.50

  • 1. Primary navigation (thumbnails in the bottom frame in Exploria) can have up

to ten elements. Toolbox and Summary are predefined for all presentations

  • 2. Secondary navigation is limited to 5 elements – those will be secondary

navigation buttons automatically generated by CMS

  • 3. Summary page has no secondary navigation

Note: Remove unused boxes once completed Step One Process:

  • pen Visio template with the generic navigations structure

add the names inside boxes for the items you will need for your presentation this should give you a high level presentation structure (content map) remove the boxes without names proceed to step two primary nav 40.00 primary nav 50.00 primary nav 60.00 primary nav 70.00 primary nav 70.00 secondary nav 10.10 secondary nav 10.20 secondary nav 10.30 secondary nav 20.40 secondary nav 20.50 secondary nav 20.10 secondary nav 20.20 secondary nav 20.30 secondary nav 30.40 secondary nav 30.50 secondary nav 30.10 secondary nav 30.20 secondary nav 30.30 secondary nav 40.40 secondary nav 40.50 secondary nav 40.10 secondary nav 40.20 secondary nav 40.30 secondary nav 50.40 secondary nav 50.50 secondary nav 50.10 secondary nav 50.20 secondary nav 50.30 secondary nav 60.40 secondary nav 60.50 secondary nav 60.10 secondary nav 60.20 secondary nav 60.30 secondary nav 70.40 secondary nav 70.50 secondary nav 70.10 secondary nav 70.20 secondary nav 70.30 secondary nav 80.40 secondary nav 80.50 secondary nav 80.10 secondary nav 80.20 secondary nav 80.30 secondary nav 90.40 secondary nav 90.50 secondary nav 90.10 secondary nav 90.20 secondary nav 90.30 Secondary Navigation

Step Two – Create Content Maps

  • 1. Each navigation element must have at least one page of content defined
  • 2. When adding multiple pages use in-page navigation (Refer to the navigation

controls catalog from the development team)

  • 3. Try to avoid in page navigation in the popup windows

Notes: Navigation swf has a hard coded map ID for the parent state; navigation changes the ID, which pulls appropriate dynamic data from CMS. CMS also dictates the appropriate content swf for the current map ID Greatly reduces the number of Exploria rules needed! Step Two Process: for each box identified in the Step One create a content map detailing what would belong to this branch of presentation each navigation item should have at least one page attached do not exceed maximum level of subpages (3 pages deep) create content maps for all the branches

Step Three – choose in page navigation for your content branches

On Off Off Tabs Tabs are used to divide content of similar subject into a separate screens. Do not exceed more than five tabs. If you require more space you might want to consider sliders or accordion control. User moves between tabs by clicking on them Sliders Sliders are used in similar fashion as tabs. User slides the selector to a different position to access different areas of content. Sliders can also be used in the vertical position. User moves the slider to

  • ther positions

  • 1. Tabs (suggested use – for representing different content groupings. Tabs

functionality can be represented by buttons, icons, etc.)

  • 2. Slider (suggested use – for representing a progress or a path through a

presentation, e.g. timeline, dosage, etc.)

  • 3. Accordion (suggested use – to show a TOC and than showing one item at

the time, especially when not having enough real estate on the screen)

  • 4. Carousel (suggested use – a catalog of items, requires user interaction to

see item details)

  • 5. Vertical magnifier (suggested use – when having a long TOC and not

enough real estate on the screen. Item selected is magnified and corresponding content is displayed on click)

  • 6. I-Tray (suggested use - supporting links to the other branches of the

presentation, open a link in the popup window) Notes: Consistency!!!! Step Three Process:

First Item Second Item Third Item Accordion This control is used when change of the partial page content is needed. User clicks on the header and the underlying content gets revealed. Usually only one item can be opened at the time Static copy and/or art Image Image Image Image Image

3 4

Carousel Typically used to represent a catalog of items via a series of images. User navigates either via slider or clicking on images. Each clicks brings image to the center.
