Circle A circle has no sides and no corners. It has a perfect round shape just like a basketball.
Oval An oval has no sides and no corners. It looks like a circle that has been squashed just like a football.
Triangle A triangle has 3 sides and 3 corners. It comes in all sizes and colors just like a slice of pizza.
Rectangle The YELLOW arrows show two of the sides that match. They are the same length. The RED arrows show the other two sides that match. They are the same length. A rectangle has 4 sides and 4 corners with 2 sets of matching sides just like a one dollar bill.
Square All of the RED arrows are pointing to the sides that match. All 4 sides of a square are the same length. A square has 4 sides and 4 corners with 4 matching sides just like a cracker.
Rhombus A rhombus has 4 sides and 4 corners and makes a diamond shape just like a kite.
Pentagon A pentagon has 5 sides and 5 corners just like the black parts of a soccer ball.
Hexagon A hexagon has 6 sides and 6 corners just like the white parts of a soccer ball.
Octagon An octagon has 8 sides and 8 corners just like a STOP sign.
