One of the main challenge of the Municipality is to improve the use of bicycle in Milan, according to the goals of SUMP. So in 2017, the Municipality published a public notice to find operators interested at managing Bike Sharing Free Floating Services in Milan, with a maximum cap of 12,000 total bicycles. Mobike and Ofo, two native Chinese companies, applied to the bid and launched the services (with 500.000 users and more than 10,000 daily trips). BIKE SHARING FREE FLOATING

Milan was the first Italian city to launch a Public call for finding companies interested in providing a Scooter Sharing Service. The first player that managed the service was Enjoy (2015-2017), with 150 Piaggio Mp3 three-wheel vehicles. At the end of the test, Milan has republished the public call, still open. In October 2017, a new operator, Mimoto, re-launched the service with 250 electric scooters Askoll ES2, followed by another operator, ZIG ZAG, that launched the service in April 2018 with 60 scooters Yamaha
GoVolt with 150 e-scooters and Cityscoot with 500 e-scooters. Now in Milan there are 55,000 users and 1,000 daily trips.

SUMP FOR ELECTROMOBILITY

The Plan estimates a need of electric / hybrid vehicles for the city of Milan of 150,000 units in 2025 (private, public fleets, company fleets and sharing services). This result can be achieved only when there are strong economic incentives to buy EVs both at national and regional levels. SUMPS envisaged two scenarios:
Metropolitan City. This would help to reduce emissions of PM10 from vehicles
the Metropolitan City. This would help to reduce emissions of PM10 from motor vehicles of about 2.5 tons, accounting for 2% of the target of SUMP. SUMP FOR ELECTROMOBILITY
