TRUE Town Hall Meeting July 14, 2020 Phase 1: Phase 1: 100% 100% Di Distance ance Learni ning ng • Definition of this phase for whole district and for medically fragile/at ‐ risk students. • Nothing has been agreed upon, yet. Here is what we are currently negotiating: • Google Classroom will be the approved platform. • Google Meet/Zoom will be the approved platform for live instruction. • There will be a clearly defined number of zoom/google meet meetings for K ‐ 6 students and 7 ‐ 12 students. 7 Pha Phase 2: 2: Blended ended Learning ning Model Model  Nothing has been agreed upon, yet. Here is what we are currently negotiating:  Students will attend M/T and Th/F. K ‐ 6 students will be divided into cohorts. 7 ‐ 12 students will attend based on block scheduling.  Wednesday will be made up of staff meetings, communicating with parents/students, and prep time.  K ‐ 6 teachers will teach ELA and Math. History and Science are encouraged to be integrated.  7 ‐ 12 teachers will teach their normal periods. 8 Phase Phase 3: 3: Traditiona aditional Lea Learning ning Mo Model • The MOU we are currently negotiating has a proposed expiration date of June 30, 2021. • We are currently bargaining language about how to determine when we go back to this phase. 9 3of 11

In?  At last bargaining session, TRUSD said they are not sure. o PERFECT timing for us to advocate to open under distance learning. o Consistent with message from E. Toby Boyd and other unions. 10  TRUE has currently proposed:  Safeguards for at ‐ risk members  We have proposed allowing these teachers to receive a 100% distance learning assignment for ‘20 ‐ ’21. Saf Safety ty  We have proposed having these members placed on paid leave, if no (If we enter into Phase 2) alternate work assignment is available.  Members who test positive for COVID  We have proposed paid leave for these teachers (should not come out of sick leave, personal, or extended illness leave). 11  Masks and/or face shields with neck drape  Daily cleaning and disinfecting, Safety Saf ty including hand sanitizer and soap co conti ntinued nued for workspaces (If we enter into Phase 2)  Proper HVAC units and filters  Daily symptom check for anyone on campus 12 4of 11
