Derelict Boats Waste Stream: Disposal Solutions
- Seeking environmentally sustainable, efficient and cost-effective
proposals for the use and disposal of the waste streams.
- The waste streams must be transported and disposed of through in a
transparent and accountable way.
- Must strive to achieve high environmental standards and make use of local
capacity.
Other Options Considered for Waste
- Co-processing of fiberglass waste: No cement
manufacturer locally, potential US based capability
- Fiberglass incorporation into concrete: wood
content of the waste streams means the structural integrity of the concrete is compromised
- Incineration to generate electricity: Pyrolysis
- Entombment into concrete (cost prohibitive)
Evaluation process for tender returns
