Derelict Boats Waste Stream: Disposal Solutions

  • Seeking environmentally sustainable, efficient and cost-effective

proposals for the use and disposal of the waste streams.

  • The waste streams must be transported and disposed of through in a

transparent and accountable way.

  • Must strive to achieve high environmental standards and make use of local

capacity.

slide-13
SLIDE 13

Other Options Considered for Waste

  • Co-processing of fiberglass waste: No cement

manufacturer locally, potential US based capability

  • Fiberglass incorporation into concrete: wood

content of the waste streams means the structural integrity of the concrete is compromised

  • Incineration to generate electricity: Pyrolysis
  • Entombment into concrete (cost prohibitive)
