THE SIGNS AND SIGNPOSTS FOR TRACKS An overview of the MX Safety signs has been fjrst introduced at the MP15 Motorcycle Show in Helsinki, in cooperation with the MX Safety project, the cooperative network of emergency services (Pelastuslaitosten Kumppanuusverkosto) and the Finnish Motorcycling Federation (SML). The SML and MX committee has confjrmed 2015, that MX Safety signs will be introduced at all Finnish motocross tracks during 2016. All active Finnish motocross clubs has acquired and installed the signs to their track. New disciplines has join the work. First Speedway track signs are installed at Varkaus by Varkaus Racing Team. Work is ongoing to get the safety signs designed and planned for other disciplines like Drag Race, Enduro, Road Race etc. Other counries has been interested in to acquire the signs. We have now fjnnish, french, latvian and portuguese translation ready. Newest Ofgroad Safety ambassador is from Brasil. Great work Omar! Next we will see new signs at tracks nearby Rio de Janeiro!

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOTOCROSS TRACKS

  • Never practice alone!
  • Make sure you have extensive insurance cover for damages
  • Use protective gear, and make sure your bike is serviced and in good condition
  • Riding in the paddock is prohibited
  • Always check the riding direction on the track
  • Enter and exit the track only in the posted areas
  • Ride the fjrst laps slowly to learn the track and to see the condition
  • Do not change lines unexpectedly. Predict the lines of others riders.
  • Stopping on the track is prohibited
  • Always react in a dangerous situation.

Report any safety fmaws to track area staff.

  • Do not leave children in the track area unsupervised

Falling or other dangerous situations on the track

  • Stop riding and notify others as soon as you observe the danger.

It is each rider’s duty to warn the other riders.

  • Always move off the track if you fall over, and ensure that the
  • ther riders notice the situation.
  • Move the bike to the side of the track without delay, but only after you

ensure that no one will crash into you.

  • Ensure that the training environment is safe for everyone

according to the level and size. Flagging

  • Spectators who are minimum 18 years and team members are requested

to take care of fmagging by the jumps and blind spots. Safely move to the fmagging post. Concentrate on watching and fmagging out for situations in your fmagging area. Use the yellow fmag or hand gestures in its absence, to warn the riders. Stationary yellow fmag: Danger, obstacle on the track, ride carefully Waved yellow fmag: Immediate danger, prepare to stop, NOT jumping or overtaking Read the National Federation and the club’s own safety instructions!

  • Ne jamais rouler seule sur la piste!

  • Il est interdit de rouler dans le paddock

Chutes ou autres situations dangereuses sur la piste

  • Arretez vous directement et notifjes autres pilotes des que vous
  • bservez un danger. C´est votre devoir de prevenir autres pilotes.
  • Deplacez vous directement en cas de chute sur la piste et

assurez vous que les autres pilotes notent la situation.

  • Deplacer la moto directement sur le cote de la piste en cas de chute

en s´assurant que d´autres pilotes ne vont pas vous percutez.

  • Assurez vous que le circuit est sans danger en accord au

niveau et a la taille pous chaque pilote. Drapeaux

  • Spectateurs de plus de 18 ans et membres de teams sont demander de

signaler avec les drapeaux sur le sauts et angles morts. Deplacez vous en securite vers le poste de signalisation. Concentrez vous et surveiller votre zone de signalisation. Utillizer le drapeau jaune ou gesticullez en absense de drapeau pour prevenir les pilotes. Drapeau jaune: Danger, soyer vigilant! Drapeau jaune agite: Danger immediat, préparer à arrêter, aucun dépassement. Reductions signifjantes de vitesse, pas de tentations de sauter.
