  • A CAPS-I committee, the K to 12 International Education

Leadership Competencies Committee was established for the 2017-2018 year to explore areas of responsibility and the associated leadership competencies that could be used when hiring or creating International Education leadership positions within K to 12 school districts/boards across Canada.

The CAPS-I executive committee determined that a report on international program leadership competencies would be beneficial for:

  • 1) CAPS-I member school district/boards
  • 2) school districts/boards senior leadership and

human resource departments

  • Six detailed job descriptions were collected from

CAPS-I members.

  • In February 2018, the committee used one description

as the baseline document then went through each of the line items of the others and added to the document if not already included, creating additional sections as necessary.
