WHAT IS 
 COLLEGE NOW?

• College credit a student has the

OPPORTUNITY to earn in a high school class with a high school teacher authorized by the community college to teach the curriculum

• College level textbooks
• College level curriculum
• Grade will be on BOTH the high school

transcript and college transcript

WHAT CLASSES QUALIFY FOR COLLEGE NOW CREDIT?

• AP US History- 6 credit hours- 3 per semester
• AP European History- 6 credit hours- 3 per

semester

• Spanish 4- 10 credit hours- 5 per semester
• Pre-Calculus - 5 credit hours
• AP Calculus AB- 5 credit hours
• AP Physics- 5 credit hours
• College Biology- 4 credit hours
• Horticulture – 2 credit hours
• AP Chemistry- 5 credit hours
• Fund. of Programming- 4 credit hours

APPLICATION PROCESS

*applying is a step that you only complete once. If you have enrolled in CN previously, skip steps #1 and #2.

• 1. Apply on-line as a JCCC student-

*If you have previously applied/enrolled in College Now, then you would skip right to step (#3 or) #4

• 2. Send Test Scores

(ACT scores or Accuplacer Test if necessary)

• 3. Enroll in the class & PAY for the credit hours

▪ This step is taken care of with JCCC- walk in/ telephone/on-line

▪Cost is $93 per credit hour

GRANT MONEY

• Financial Assistance is available for those

students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch!

• See Mrs. Schmidt-Konkel to get a grant

application.

• Deadline to apply for grant is Sept. 15th

 ACT score or Accuplacer test?


▪ AP Chemistry ▪ Math ACT Subscore- 26 ▪ Appropriate Accuplacer Score (71-120 range)

▪ AP Physics

▪ ACT Math Subscore of 28 ▪ Appropriate Accuplacer Score (71-120 range)

▪ Pre-Calculus

▪ Math ACT Subscore of 26 ▪ Appropriate Accuplacer Score (0-3 range)

▪ AB Calculus

▪ Math ACT Subscore of 28 ▪ Appropriate Accuplacer Score (7-10 range)

How to send ACT Scores:

3 options:

• 1) List JCCC as a receiving school when

registering for the ACT. If that was done, JCCC already has the scores.

• 2) All OW transcripts must be requested

through www.careercruising.com

• 3) Go to www.actstudent.org and click on

“send your scores” to send them to JCCC.

• This will take 2-3 days for JCCC to receive, so

you CANNOT wait until the enrollment deadline date!

DO NOT ASK OW to send scores/ transcript!

Students from the class of 2018 and beyond will use Career Cruising to request their transcript. Please request transcripts at least 2 weeks prior to the application deadline.

To initiate a request for a transcript:

• 1. Log onto www.careercruising.com. After logging into Career

Cruising using your schools credentials, log onto your individual plan.

• 2. From My Plan, click My Education
• 3. Select My Transcripts.
• 4. Click Send Ad-Hoc Transcript Request.
• 5. Select the destination for your request.
• 6. If the NCAA is the destination, confirm the request. If the destination

is a college, click a state and then choose the college by name.

• 7. Click Send Now to confirm the request.

Accuplacer Test Requirement:

• Take Accuplacer TEST by September 15

Take photo ID & JCCC student ID number to JCCC Student Center- 3rd Floor/ Testing Center- allow one hour per test

• STUDENTS HAVE TWO ATTEMPTS TO
