Cairnes School of Business & Economics http://www.nuigalway.ie/cairnes / http://www.nuigalway.ie/cairnes / Assessment 11 12 11 12 + + Course Selection  Assessment is mainly by a written final examination of two hours  Some courses may combine final examination with assessment  Courses are available from the second and final years of by course work such as projects or essays carrying up to 50% full-time B.Comm. undergraduate programme and BSc of the available marks Business Information Systems programme.  Marks are awarded out of 100%  Lecturers are available to assist the incoming students  Examination Standards: i i S regarding choice of courses . 40% or above: Pass  Each course is assigned a weight (5 or 10 ECTS), which generally corresponds to the number of lecture hours per 50% or above: Second class honours, grade 2 week. 60% or above: Second class honours, grade 1 (‘B’)  The normal weight of courses taken by NUI Galway 70% or above: First class honours (‘A’ or top grade) students is 30 ECTS per semester.   3. 12/01/2015 13 14 13 14 + + Course Selection Course Selection Forms  This form must be completed in addition to the Registration Form  Please note the following  Erasmus Students must have courses listed approved by their NUI Galway School Coordinator to be signed before Friday, 23rd January,  Courses offered on a year-long basis can only be 2015 by 2.00 p.m. taken by students visiting for the full academic year.  Course selection will take place on Monday, 26 th January, 2015 in Aras Ui Chathail (1 st floor) between 9.30 am. – 1.00 p.m. and 2.00p.m. –  The lecture timetable will contain course clashes.
