Early College High Schools: • provide dual credit at no cost to students • offer rigorous instruction and accelerated courses • provide academic and social support services to help students succeed • increase college readiness, and • reduce barriers to college access. •

  4. Degree Options Associate of Arts in General Studies Designed for students who would like to benefit from two years of a broad, general college education. General studies students develop their ability to think critically and analytically, to write effectively, to work well with others, to solve problems creatively. Associate of Science in General Studies Designed for students interested in pursuing a 4-year degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. The “A.S.” degree includes the same basics subjects as an “A.A.” The only difference is that students take more math and science classes overall.

  5. Targets for EVERY Student Associate Degree – Arts or Science Earn up to 60 transferable college credits Complete “Core Curriculum” – 42 credits

  6. How does the degree p plan work? Singley Collegiate students take a blend of high school and college courses over four years. Senior Year Take FOUR college classes in the fall and 8 FOUR college classes in the spring. Junior Year Take FOUR college classes in the fall and 8 FOUR college classes in the spring. 4 Summer Bridge Sophomore Year HS Transition, Relationship Take TWO college classes in the fall and 1 TWO college classes in the spring. Building & TSI Freshman Year Start in Methods of Academic & Personal Success elective and take ONE college class in the fall or spring (PE).

  8. ECHS Application Process Family Information Phase One - Application 01 Students and parents provide basic background information. Completed Online Reflection Essays 02 Three written reflections are required. Students should respond to all three questions in the application. Interview Session 03 Parents and students need to attend an interview session at the Jack E. Singley Academy to complete the as part of the application process. Applications due January 17, 2020. No late applications will be accepted. College Signing Celebration Phase Two 04 Professional-style gathering for applicants to introduce themselves to current ECHS staff and students.

  9. ECHS Application Process • Student online application in English and Spanish. • Application Window: November 11, 2019- January 17, 2020. • Students and parents will be asked to participate in an interview. • Notification of acceptance will be on February 21, 2020. • Students are required to attend a Summer Bridge Program in June. • If more than 125 qualified students apply, there will be a lottery process to determine placement.
