Rotary Foundation Director : Friedrich Vogel Members: Nazo Davidian (Vice chair), PP Andreas Ladas, Anita Papakyriakou Goran Svensson • The club is 100% sustaining member of the RF • Contributing 100 USD/member since more than 5 years • The club secured one District Simplified Grant for the Dyslexia project • Exceptional representation at the 2 nd Cyprus Rotary Conference, 30-31 October 2010, 1 st club in Cyprus with the best Attendance This year we are giving 5 PHF. We got 3 of them on Rotary Foundation date with double recognition points thus saving the club $1500.

  17. Community Environmental Project Reforestation In collaboration with the Forestry Department of Cyprus The second environmental project was the tree planting in the wider Nicosia area, Athalassa Forest, near the buffer zone.

  21. Vocational Projects DYSLEXIA BI-COMMUNAL PROJECT Dyslexia awareness booklet for Cyprus 1. Cyprus Dyslexia Association wrote the booklet 2. Rotary Club of Nicosia – Aspelia, coordinated the project, translated the booklet into Turkish and printed 2000 copies in Greek 3. The Turkish Cypriot Dyslexia Association (KKDD) worked on the Turkish version and organised the distribution of the booklet 4. The Rotary club of Nicosia Sarayionou embraced the project and printed and distributed the Turkish translation 5. Fund raising by the Rotary clubs 6. Excellent media coverage in TV news 2 TV Live Programs 1 Radio Program and press coverage

Vocational Projects DYSLEXIA PROJECT “TRAIN THE TRAINER” 2010 Club Trainer: PP Marianna Trokoudes • Training workshops for parents and teachers who handle or encounter Dyslexic children, October-November 2010. • Initiative taken by Nicosia-Aspelia and Nicosia Sarayonu, representing all the 19 Rotary Clubs in Cyprus. • Aiming to assist the Dyslexia Associations of the two communities. • External funding from the Small Grant Programme of the “Engage” project executed by the NGO Support Centre and the Management Centre and sponsored by the UNDP-ACT. • Active participation of Dyslexia Associations of the two communities. • Follow up by small bi-communal informal meetings of both the Greek and Turkish Cypriot parents and teachers.
