2D Art (Design)

with Mrs. Robinson

Explore the use of pencils as a tools; learn how to use line to draw in perspective, to shade using 7 key components (highlight, light values, middle values, dark values, core shadow, cast shadow, and reflected light), learn to apply a wide variety of drawing techniques, and learn how to skillfully utilize various drawing tools. We focus on learning how to draw what you SEE, not what you KNOW.

3D Art (Sculpture)

with Mrs. Robinson

Designed to build on students prior knowledge of three-dimensional art, students may experiment with glass bead making, using MAP gas torches or design Chihuly-inspired sculptures using heat guns. Students weave a coil basket or set of coasters, and even use a circle loom to knit a hat they can wear home! Students will construct a large scale sculpture, using found objects and recyclables, and will have the opportunity to create a cocoa mug with pottery clay. We are always moving full STEAM ahead in room 2113!
