Students will assess their personal strengths, enhance their communication and leadership skills, take a career interest inventory, complete a basic exploration of career clusters, select career fields or occupations for further study, and begin to create a plan based on their academic and career interests. New Pilot Course for 2017-2018 Middle School Career & Technical Education

College & Career Readiness- Grade 8 Begin or continue your career exploration and get ahead on practicing the workplace readiness skills that high schools, colleges and employers are looking for! Students will explore career clusters in depth through a variety of interactive activities and begin exploring career pathways of interest. Students have an opportunity to take a career interest inventory and analyze the results, compare various options for life after high school, and develop or revise a plan related to their academic and career-related goals. Business ethics, basic finances, workplace technology and business etiquette will also be explored. Students will also have the opportunity to hear from real-world guest speakers and travel off-site to learn first-hand about different career pathways.

Elective Course Registration Forms

• Rising 7th & 8th – Registering online the week of

March 13th and February 27th respectfully. Courses will be locked and for “view only”.

• FYI to ALL PARENTS…If there is a desired

elective change… MUST complete & submit the

Course Change Request Form return to your

child’s school counselor before March 30, 2017.
