Revitalizing Main Streets

  • In an effort to protect health and environment, CDOT is utilizing up to $4.1

million of the state portion of the SB 1 Multimodal Options Fund to develop and deploy a new grant program to support public health and active transportation.

  • These grants are of varying size and will allow communities to bolster their

ability to improve the built environment in their communities to facilitate safe and healthy active transportation, outdoor dining and business.

Colorado examples:

  • The City of Denver selected some streets for more bike

and pedestrian access, allowing for social distancing

  • Carbondale converting block of Main Street to one-way

and dedicating part of street to outdoor dining

  • The City of Littleton closing Main Street to traffic on

weekends

  • 95% of 2,218 of online survey participants said

interested in program to help restaurants obtain additional outdoor seating and generate foot traffic for other downtown retailers

Safe & Flexible Communities

  • Promote teleworking as a healthy and sustainable transportation option
  • Building on existing efforts to offer options for employees who can

  • Help promote best practices for teleworking, provide staff

capacity or otherwise incentivize continued telework
