The School Board is committed to providing healthy and safe buildings and grounds for students, families, employees, and visitors. The Superintendent has the general responsibility for the care, custody, and safekeeping of buildings and grounds owned and leased by the School Board. The Facilities and Operations Department is responsible for managing the care, custody and safekeeping of buildings and grounds with the least disruption to teaching and learning and to the operations of the building. The Facilities and Operations Department provides an integrated, environmentally sustainable housekeeping and grounds keeping program comprising green cleaning, solid waste and recycling, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), snow and ice treatment and removal. Principals, building managers and/or designees are responsible for reporting unsafe and unhealthy conditions and hazards, and required non-scheduled care of buildings and grounds to Facilities and Operations. Principals, building managers and/or designees are responsible for supervision of custodial services.
