There are 19 Precincts Mangroves to Mountains Transect ( M to M) is Precinct 001 M to M then divided into Zones starting at Rosser Lake end There are 23 Zones of which 18 have been established. (It’s a garden …always a work in progress) The Araucaria Forest planting proposal has been prepared, including detailed plant lists. There are over 50 Beds…and still growing. Eg. …… Zone 03 Banksia Woodland Zone divided into Beds 04 Gum Tree Corridor divided into 11 named beds and continuing until Closed Forest Gorge which is Zone 023 divided into 5 Beds For each Precinct there is a brief planting description on the Maintenance Plan and details of specific maintenance requirements where necessary.

Plant species are researched and potential suppliers located Some of the data collected prior to inclusion in the collection: PALMS ARECACEAE Dypsis albofarinosa Clustered, shrubby palm forming clumps to 5 x Madagasacar 2-3 m. Stems 4-5 cm in diam., ringed, internodes 6-15 cm, greenish but initially covered with chalky powdery white indument. Known from a small population where fewer than 20 mature individuals have been recorded in the wild, in rocky areas and now listed critically endangered IUCN Red List Chambeyronia macrocarpa This fantastic palm displays a bright red leaf New Caledonia upon opening and also features a beautiful watermeloned pattern, clean waxy trunk. Full sun/light shade, moist, well drained (tho isn't averse to wet feet). Easily the fastest of the New Caledonian palms.Large feather palm (15m) with a spectacular, bright red new leaf, which stays red for up to 10 days. The leaflets are also very wide, thick, and shiny so even without a new leaf it is very distinctive, IUCN Conwervation dependent

Select upright form to start- to provide taller shade FLOWERING SHRUBS APOCYCYNACEAE Wrightia antidysenterica Arctic Snow Beautiful compact evergreen perennial shrub Sri Lanka growing up to 1.5m. It has glossy green leaves and is covered in 2.5cm white star shaped flowers throughout the warmer months.
