The Numbers

  • In 2013, estimated cost for an addition & renovation of the Science Building was $15 million.
  • The 2013 MT Legislature approved $10 million with the remaining $5 million be raised by MSUB.

$10 million is in the long-range planning budget. We must use it in the next 2 years or lose it.

  • In September of 2016, DSA Architects revised the cost to $18.4 million.
  • Currently, a bonding bill in the 2017 Montana Legislature includes $5 million for the Science

Building project which would bring the state’s investment to $15 million.

  • If the bonding bill is funded, MSUB needs to raise $3.4 million of which $1.5 million is secured.
