FAQ&A

Ask Us Anything!

slide-27
SLIDE 27

FAQ & A

  • Q3: Why do you need our retiree list?
  • A3: Once someone retires from your company, we will ask them to

donate as an individual. If they are listed as a “retiree” for your company, you still get credit for their gift towards your goal. In addition, most people want to continue supporting United Way even after retirement.

  • Q4: Why do you need to know how many employees we have?
  • A4: Many of our annual awards are figured out with formulas that

include total number of employees. This includes participation rates and per capita giving awards. We never disclose the number

  • f employees to any one in the process.
slide-28
SLIDE 28

FAQ & A

  • Q5: Should we collect a pledge form from everyone?
  • A5: It is a best practice to collect a form from every employee. If

they do not wish to participate – they can simply fill out their name and write “No” on the pledge form. This makes it easier for you to make sure everyone did receive a form and was asked.

  • Q6: Can we designate to an impact area, a specific organization or

another United Way?

  • A6: Yes, we have 5 broad areas of impact that donors can designate

to: Health/Mental Health/Substance Abuse Treatment, Safety Net (basic needs), Workforce Development, Youth Development and Holmes County. You can also designate directly to an organization

  • r another United Way (like Ashland, Summit, Stark or Orrville

Area).
