BACKGROUND • Allegheny West Neighborhood Rejuvenation Plan • Road diet • Slow traffic • Increase safety • Create more functional uses of roadway • City of Pittsburgh’s Bike(+) Plan • North-South connector • Connects to existing bike network Typical cross-section of current layout looking north.

  3. EXISTING CONDITIONS Four (4) lane • roadway Two-way street • Wide lane widths EXISTING BIKE • LANES Existing bike • 2 TRAVEL LANES IN EACH DIRECTION, NO network includes PARKING West Ohio Street and Allegheny ONE TRAVEL LANE IN Circle EACH DIRECTION WITH PARKING

BACKGROUND DATA • Traffic Studies • Average daily traffic (ADT) is 4,000 vehicles per day • Classified as Urban Minor Arterial roadway • Candidate for road diet as less than 20,000 vehicles per day per FHWA guidance • Parking • 32 legal parking spaces currently along corridor • Additional 51 parking spaces within 300 feet of Western/W Ohio/Brighton intersection • 15 spaces to remain • Parking utilization is less than 8% Typical cross-section of proposed layout looking north.
