BHC Hospital Bed options and qualifications: 1) E0250– Fixed Height/Manual Bed: needs positioning not feasible in an ordinary bed 2) E0255-Variable Height/Manual Bed: meets #1 AND needs bed height adjustment for transfers 3) E0260-Semi-Electric Bed: meets #1 and #2 AND needs the head of the bed elevated >30 degrees and frequent change in body position 4) E0265-Full-Electric Bed: meets all qualifications #1, #2 and #3 AND pays monthly upgrade fee to FE

Wheelchair Coverage Criteria

1) MEDICARE WHEELCHAIRS, Simplified Patient cannot perform one or more in home MRADL with assistance with walker or cane, then a wheelchair is the next step. 5 Mobility Related Activity of Daily Living (MRADL): Toileting - Dressing - Feeding - Grooming - Bathing

Wheelchair Progression - Basic Man.

Standard Weight Lightweight High Strength Lightweight Ultra Lightweight

• Standard Weight
• Lightweight (cannot propel a standard weight wheelchair)
• Lightweight, High Strength (Super Hemi, lifetime need for geriatric clients)
• Ultralight Manual Wheelchair (infinite axle positioning, camber, and seat angle adjustments, lifetime need for

non-geriatric clients)

Wheelchair Progression - Tilt

Tilt in Space (20-50 degree tilt, pressure relief, inability to perform functional weight shifts)

Wheelchair Progression - Basic Power

• Scooter (tiller operation, bad turning radius, and not ideal for in home use)
• Captain Seat Power Wheelchair (geriatric , inability to operate tiller)
